Testing or also Transferring Knowledge?

We review gaming technologies and information technology safety within the field of gaming technologies. The common denominator is the evaluation of the product, the information system.

However, is that it? Independent evaluations are our mission, yet so is the transfer of knowledge.

In gaming technologies, we evaluate functional characteristics, payment systems, charging, the software, statistical characteristics and game mathematics, communication with and among systems, etc. There are unfortunately no international standards nor mutual recognition of test results schemas.

One of the bigger problems of manufacturers of gaming devices is understanding the differences between the technical requirements of different markets and jurisdictions. These often differ within individual countries, regions, provinces, states, tribal jurisdictions, etc.

That is why clients turn to us for explanations in regards to different regulatory requirements, e.g. with questions on whether their product with specific characteristics shall meet the requirements of target markets. It is basically a consultation before testing even begins. It is not only about the requirements written in the technical regulation, but also the interpretations that are based on experiences gained through working with regulators.

The transfer of knowledge often happens on the regulatory level. SIQ also participates in counselling groups for the preparation or update to regulations. We have performed many training programs for various regulators around the world and organized many training programs for closed groups.

When evaluating the safety of the information technology, we arrange with the client to take on the role of a cybernetic criminal and try to discover as many security holes in the system as possible. This helps us to convey to the client how well their system is protected against threats and enables us to directly advise on how to significantly reduce their security risk. You could say that our entire activity in this field is the transfer of a specific knowledge.

We also perform training programs for various groups in which we notify our users, educate them on the requirements of relevent standards, and introduce practices within this field.
